* Powell's Stockfeeds *

One thing I like to do is to recommend companies who consistently provide excellent service and the best quality products. Powell's Stockfeeds is one of them – for they have been my favourite supplier for over nineteen years!

Powell's is a one stop shop for your all bunnies needs (and other pet or livestock supplies) – not to mention they are very reasonably priced as well.

I have the wooden one (top right photo) plus a few of the ones below for my rabbits.
Apart from adding accessories such as a bit of carpet on a wire floor/resting shelf I think they work
pretty well for small rabbit breeds – and they look snazzy too! I also remove hay racks and first level ramps, as they restrict running room and buns are perfectly capable of jumping up on their own accord.

Puppy playpens (see above photo of a puppy pen attached to the three tired indoor cage) are great for bunnies as well puppies! Especially handy indoors, to make sure your pet doesn't get up to too much mischief or can be moved outside as a grazing/exercise pen.

I generally wouldn’t recommend metal hutches BUT this new design is definitely an improvement on the galvanised metal cages that have been around for quite a while. This one has the added bonus of a front doorway, as well as two openings at the top and in comparison to others is much larger in height and overall size. Measurements are: 150 cm in length, 56 cm wide & 56 cm high. The benefit of being plastic coated is not only aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but prevents rust corrosion – a marked improvement on galvanized. Since bunnies absolutely love to jump up and down on things (splendid exercise to keep them fit!), there was ample room/height to include a shelving basket, which when turned upside down fitted perfectly. You can find these at Bunnings in the aisle selling ‘do-it-yourself’ wardrobe systems.
I had to cut two sides of the basket though (front and rear sections), so bunny could run in and out of the enclosed area. I also placed a rubber backed doormat (a piece carpet would also be suitable) for comfort and sure footing. Other suggested modifications are to add fly screen (preferably the stiffer stainless steel type) and provide roof covering to keep bunny dry during wet weather. Oh and be sure to situate any kind of metal hutch in a good shady spot.
