* Miniature Lops *
Some of my main aims are not only to breed gorgeous bunnies in gorgeous colours but for them to have gorgeous personalities as well! All lop breeds are reputed to be friendly and docile. I do believe however that with careful selective breeding and handling from the day they are born, it can certainly improve any rabbit's temperament.
The following are just a sample of individual characters and colours I'm working on.
They are not for sale, but if you contact me some of their offspring might be available.

Bonreiki 'Jemima'
sealpoint colour
A young doe that is nicely shaded with brown points and a creamy body colour.
As you can see Mini Lops can/will sit up similar to an American Holland Lop.
Since they are a mini version of a Dwarf Lop it's appropriate
for them to sit (on a show table)
the same as their counterparts – not too high up on their toes nor crouching down hugging the table.
'Bonreiki 'Bingo'
siamese sable colourThis pocket rocket (weighing in at only 1.230 kg) continues to wow the judges! At nine months old, to date he's brought home trophies for Best Kitten, Best Junior and Runner Up Best in Show.
Bonreiki 'Mactavish'

black butterfly colour
On the right you can see he has a perfect set of butterfly wings, unfortunately the side on shot proves that he also has excess white patches on his body. Regardless of his markings however my lovely Mactavish has a very friendly personality and a sweet nature. I sent the photo on the right to the Australian Show Rabbit yahoo group's online show (September 2005). Mactavish achieved 6th (out of 72 entries) in the Lop section. Although UK judger Phil Batey said "the photo has not done him justice" he did make some great compliments such as "stocky limbs, beautiful shaped head, good width between his eyes and good ear drop"
Bonreiki ' Sebastian'
siamese smoke colour (dilute siamese sable)

Sebastian is a typical smoochy buck, as he is always keen to receive a 'head scrunch' (massage) and ear rubs.
Bonreiki 'Gardenia'
red eyed white colour
Who was to know that this little girl would be Runner Up Best Lop in the Australian Show
Rabbit yahoo group's online show! Well renowned and respected UK rabbit judge Phil Batey
complimented her qualities with words like: "superb skull profile, with what looks like correct
ear drop, good shoulder developing, lovely strong limbs, she would grace my shed easily, could
have easily competed and possibly won the REW class at the National Miniature Lop Club of GB's
Young Stock show at the weekend."
Bonreiki 'Maestro'
marten sable colour (dark)
At six months of age Maestro is chocker block full of bounce
and energy and has taken a real fancy to the girls!
And he
is such a wee little thing that ony weighs 1.045 kg!
Bonreiki 'Eager Beaver'
siamese sable colour
Eager Beaver is quite a small buck – on the left he's two and a half years of age and on the right just over four months. Notice in maturity how his head and shoulders have filled out nicely compared to when a mere youngster.

Bonreiki 'Montgomery'
blue colour
I always like to have blues around
as it introduces dilute to various other colours. Montgomery is small and compact, which is also a handy positive trait to help keep the breed within the standard size/weight criterion.
Malvina Lake 'Zola'
agouti colour (pronounced ag-oo-tee – the typical bush bunny colour, which I think looks really great in a Lop)
I thank Christine Toyer for this lovely doe – she's such a good mum and always has a docile and relaxed personality – even when she is pregnant.
Bonreiki 'Ziggy'

black colour
Ziggy lives the life of riley as a much loved indoor pet.
Considering that I probably shouldn't have parted with him in the first place
his owners are happy for Ziggy to come back and visit every once in a while for the purpose of wooing one of the girls.
Bonreiki 'Cromwell'
sealpoint colourAn adorably handsome fellow that is undoubtedly photogenic for little does he know that he features on the front cover of my book – casually languishing over the world!
He was very well placed in the 2006 summer online show held by the Australian Show Rabbit Yahoo Group. UK judge Sue Dickensen chose Cromwell (left photo) as her Best Overall Junior Lop and her favourable comments were, "delightful Mini Lop. Compact youngster with good limbs and well set shoulders. Ears placed a little high but of good shape. Skull shape shows promise. Excellent coat and correct colour". Then it was a wonderful surprise when a panel of overseas judges picked him out to win Best Junior in the show from all of the other breed sections and contenders. Certainly not a bad start to a budding show career, especially at such a young age.

Right: now that Cromwell is a couple of years old he's developed into quite a chunky fella – though still well within the weight limit.
Left: being cheeky by poking out his green tongue!
(well, not really, he was just finishing up the last bit of a yummy leaf he picked off the branch of a Wisteria tree)
