* Miniature Cashmere Lops *
Some of my main aims have been not only to breed fabulous looking bunnies in a wonderful array of colours but for them to have sweet personalities as well! All lop breeds are reputed to be friendly and docile, I do believe however that with careful selective breeding and handling from the day they are born it can certainly improve any rabbit's temperament.
The following are just a sample of individual characters and colours I'm working on.
They are not for sale but if you contact me some of their offspring might be available.

Bonreiki 'Rembrandt'
Blue Otter colour (dilute of black otter)Rembrandt (now retired and having a marvelous time on a farm) did particularly well on the show table, even when merely a baby not only did he win best kitten but runner up best in show!

'Juliet'
Squirrel colour (dilute chinchilla)
Next time I take a snapshot I had better make sure she's in a good mood! Alas if they are unwilling participants you can see it in their faces. Oh the joys of animal photography!
Bonreiki 'Hotshot'
Opal colour (dilute agouti)I was absolutely stoked when Hotshot also won Best Lop in the Australian Show Rabbit yahoo group's online show (September 2005). He was up against 72 entries and it was a great honour for UK judge Phil Batey to have picked him out from so many lovely Lops. To make such wonderful comments for example that Hotshot 'would compete with, AND beat the best the UK has to offer' was marvelous accolade indeed. Not to mention compliments like: outstanding front elevation, lovely head mount on an almost invisible neck, superb skull, lovely ear carriage held close to the cheeks, a superb coat of correct length, very well presented by all accounts, colour looks to be very good also, a superb little buck.
Bonreiki 'Belladonna'
Black colourBelladonna is a special young doe that recently won Best Lop (out of 91 entries) in the Australian Show Rabbit Yahoo Group's summer 2006 online show. UK judge Sue Dickensen gave her some wonderful comments: "A really charming exhibit! Lovely head, crown and eardrop with correct ear placement. Excellent spoon shaped ears. Compact, short and solid with sound limbs. Well rounded rump. Good colour and coat of correct length. A very well balanced exhibit."
Then to top this off Belladonna was chosen by a panel of renowned overseas judges to be placed as third best in show – which is quite an achievement in anyone's books. What do you think?
Bonreiki 'Bashful'
Siamese Smoke Butterfly(siamese smoke is the dilute of siamese sable)
A well-marked butterfly is much more challenging and harder to achieve than the broken pattern. Notice on the left the ideal shape of butterfly wings and above the solid colouring (otherwise called blanket colour) on the body. Oh if only I could paint a strip of white going further down his forehead.
Bonreiki 'Crackerjack'
Red Eyed White colour
Sometimes I think I should have named this fellow Dopey or Sleepy as he's the dopiest, sleepiest rabbit I have ever owned! It is also funny how often visitors pick out Crackerjack as one of their favourites.
(his coat is still in development after a moult)
Bonreiki 'Chantilly Lace'
Beige (colour) Butterfly (pattern)(beige is the dilute of sooty fawn)

As you can see there can be a bit of a difference to a kitten's coat and a mature adult's coat colouring. Other influencing factors are whenever maulting or even when a bunny is regularly exposed to sunshine. Chantilly is just one of my brood does that doesn't have birthing problems and is an easy going yet caring mother.

Bonreiki 'Chinook'
Opal colour (opal is the dilute of agouti)This photo was taken just before Chinook's first birthday. Although he is the same colour as my champion Hotshot they are not related. Since he is carrying squirrel in his background I'm hoping that one day he will pass the colour on to his prodigy. Although you can see his coat is spoilt by a distinct mault line he's still a handsome and compact little fellow.
