This site hopes to encourage the growth of the rabbit fancy and offer a helpful resource for enthusiasts.

Clipart/newcarrot.gifClosure of Oz Rabbit Clubs & Breeder's Directory pages

Unfortunately due to the lack of response and co-operation from some clubs to keep their essential details up to date, I've had no other option but to remove the page dedicated to ‘Oz Rabbit Clubs’. It's a shame a few ruined what others appreciated – a convenient 'one stop shop' to source contact details and a handy avenue to advertise show dates etc.

So too, after offering 'Oz breeder's Directory' pages for a few years, it’s come to the stage of needing to undergo a massive overhaul. This would entail contacting every individual stud to find out if they’re still active or whether their listing is currently up to date – and then have to go through the tedious process of amending all of these details.

I also admit to being quite disheartened and concerned about being placed in the position of inadvertently advertising disreputable breeders. I dread the thought that that via my website I’ve sent someone who might be shocked and horrified to find rabbits kept in sub standard conditions, with serious health issues and so on and so forth . . . L Another problem is even though buyers request ‘show quality’ they unfortunately find out they’ve actually ended up with disqualifiable or ‘pet quality’ rabbits.

I know closing the directories will disappoint many breeders (especially those doing the right thing) though I hope they can understand my predicament.

As an alternative service visitors can find breeder's directories in most

News Bulletin

Hey, does anyone care?

It only takes one bite from a tiny, insignificant mosquito
to Clipart/mosquito.JPGend the life of a family's pet bunny! Clipart/englishlop.jpg

Of course mosquitoes do not have a premeditated scheme to indiscriminatly spread our government’s weapon of choice
– the silently fatal virus called Myxomatosis.

Inestimable thousands of harmless pet rabbits have suffered and died for no justifiable reason whatsoever. The cruel tragedy was deliberately introduced and legally endorsed as from 1950 – a grand total of
sixty one years ago!
A very long time by anyone's standard!

See source: http://www.csiro.au/science/Myxomatosis-History.html

and interestingly mentions: "It was the world's first successful biological control program of a mammalian pest . . ." – though why not also boast to 'successfully' assassinate adorable pet bunnies, which if they take the time to notice actually come in wonderfully, amazing array of breeds, colours and personalities!

Sadly, pet rabbits will continue to be ‘biologically controlled’ unless authorities are made aware of their misinformed, careless blunder!

Pet rabbits and their devastated owners desperately need you to voice your care and concern. To date, they’ve never had a choice in the matter and whatever they’ve endured just seems to be casually ignored or
falls on deaf ears.

Watch this UK video and ask yourself why have we had to put up without
a vaccine for such a long time?

As an animal lover, please show your support by joining the new Myxomatosis Hotline website: http://www.myxomatosis.com.au/

This helpful, innovative site contains a map of recently reported myxo outbreaks across Australia. It is easy to register and add a memorial to bunnies you’ve lost to myxo. Or otherwise could just let everyone know about how much you love your rabbits and how important they are
to your family.

* The government is monitoring the Myxomatosis website to find out how many people are interested in
having a vaccine available for Australian pet rabbits.

You can also sign online petition appealing for a Myxomatosis vaccine:

http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/make-myxomatosis-vaccine-legal.html

Please help these worthy campaigns by sharing this info with your friends and family as well as adding the above links to your websites.

If you love your bunnies, want to understand more about their behaviour and do right by them with housing, feeding, breeding, health issues and so on – this much needed resource at hand is ideal for everyone.

Find out what a number of readers think about it by opening
 My Book page.

I don't intend to reprint hard copies again so I'd suggest you'd best grab
a copy while limited editions are still available!

As an alternative option however, I plan to convert and seperate chapters into a number of e-books. Take for instance people could choose to purchase whichever topical subjects they specifically need or are interested in the most. In the meantime it's going to take a some effort and a lot of my time to produce all of the e-books
. . . K
